Our March Challenge is all about taking care of YOU as you train!

M/SRTT March Challenge

Welcome to the March Challenge Event!! If you’re new to our monthly challenges, here’s how it works. Every month we host a challenge to help improve personal accountability and motivation to reach our goals. Challenges are also a great way to provide support and encouragement to each other. You can join our monthly challenges at ANY point during the month!

It is officially race season (YAY!)…whether you are new to running, preparing for a 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon or ultra, this challenge is for you! As runners, it is easy to get focused on hitting certain goals related to mileage, pace or maintaining a certain heart rate. However, in order to maximize our efforts, achieve our goals and remain injury-free, it is important to also focus on proper stretching and hydration.

This month, the challenge is to complete a proper warm-up/dynamic stretches before your run, and a proper cool down with additional stretches after your run. In addition to stretching, we are challenging you to drink AT LEAST half of your body weight in ounces every day (modify as appropriate).

This month, let’s motivate each other to drink up and get limber! We invite you to share your favorite warm-up/cool down routines, your favorite beverage/electrolytes, tips/tricks for drinking more water or simply fun memes/infographics about stretching and hydration!

See the links below for THREE links for stretches, a printable chart for tracking hydration and yoga poses for flexibility. The links below are a good references for stretching, but as with all of our challenges modify stretches and warm-up/cool down exercises to fit your needs.
